Manchester City is the team to beat in Europe this season. Since stuttering in the 1-1 draw at home against Everton on matchday 2, the Skyblues won their 11 matches in all competitions. They scored an incredible 39 goals in the process with 24 of those coming from 6 matches at the Etihad.

The Citizens are coming on the back of a 3-0 home win against Burnley, which opened up a 5 point gap at the top of the table aided by cross city rivals United’s slip at Huddersfield.

Wolves on the other hand are having a steady run in the Championship. They are at the top of the standings with 9 wins and 2 draws from their 13 matches. However, they have a slender 2 points lead against the second placed Cardiff, also four teams behind them are at 7 point gap.

The Wolves lost 2 games from their 16 games in all competitions this season, both coming in the Championship. Their league cup journey started from the first round and got past Yeovil, Sunderland and Bristol Rovers to reach this far.

Just like every Premier League team in the cup competition, City are also expected to be without some star names. Yet, the whatever team that take the field at Etihad will have the fire-power to see off the threat of Wolves. But, one must expect a tight clash as Wolves are coming with some good form in their bags.
