Manchester United are firm favourites to beat Swansea in the League Cup on Tuesday, even if Mourinho choose to give his regular starters a break.

United’s unbeaten start to the Premier League campaign came to an end at the hands of an unlikely candidate called Huddersfield on the weekend. Their bright start to the season last for 8 matches which saw 6 wins and 2 draws. The defeat put them at a 5 point gap with league leaders and arch rivals Manchester City.

On the other hand, Swansea are struggling for consistency and so far managed just 2 wins and 2 draws from their 9 matches and were beaten in 5. Their home form is particularly poor after accumulating 1 win and 4 losses from 5 games so far.

Their latest outing is a forgettable 2-1 defeat at home against a manager-less Leicester City which exposed the flaws at the defense. The Swans could have crumbled to a humiliating defeat if not for Lukasz Fabianski’s brilliant short stopping abilities.

It is certain that Mourinho will rest some of his key men for the midweek cup clash. But the likes of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingaard are expected to start here. And on paper, this do look pretty strong.
