Mexico's Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez is set to be the destination of Lewis Hamilton's fourth Formula 1 world title victory after the Brit won in Austin on Sunday evening.

Despite Sebastian Vettel bravely leaping into the lead at the first turn, Hamilton quickly retook first position and soared into the distance on a one-stop strategy, emphasising the added pace he's possessed all weekend.

Although Vettel comfortably came home second leaving Valtteri Bottas back in fifth, it was glory for Mercedes as they sealed their fourth consecutive Constructors World Championship.

However the driver of the day was undoubtedly Max Verstappen, starting towards the back of the pack due to engine penalties and mixing it with the top runners before long.

A soft tyre stint during the middle of the race was cut short by the Red Bull in what appeared to be a bluff move that forced Vettel, Kimi Raikkonen and Bottas into a second pit stop.

With his rivals spooked, Verstappen pushed Raikkonen for third place and overtook the Finn with a daring move on the last lap, darting up the inside on the long turns 17 and 18 where moves are rarely witnessed to steal a podium finish.
