Already having agreed a summer switch, the Colombian and the Blaugrana are seeking an early move in light of Javier Mascherano's impending exit.

"Today we have talked a lot," Palmeiras sporting director Alexandre Mattos told reporters. "[Mina] has said that he and his family have a very big dream and that he believes it is time to go [to Barcelona].

"He respects Palmeiras. If he has to stay, he will remain happy and calm but if there is a chance that we can reach an agreement with Barcelona, Mina would like to fulfill his wish.

"The ball is in Barcelona's court and now we wait. If they accept, Mina leaves, if they don't get back to us, Mina will continue to train and stay here until the summer.

"Both Mina and Barcelona already know about that. Let's wait to hear from Barcelona now."

Mattos also stated that the Azulgrana first came with the idea of advancing the transfer on December 26 having had back-up Thomas Vermaelen installed for vital games such as El Clasico.
